This post will not discuss which candidate will be the best or the worst for any positions in the upcoming election. However, today is solely to encourage you to take some time out of your day to vote for who you want to lead your local city. I don't want to glamorize voting as if you pick a candidate and he or she will grant your wishes like a genie in bottle. Nonetheless, the winners of today's election will gain the power to make change on a local level, which means more immediate impact on your day to day life.
Depending on where you live, the outcome of today will determine who's influencing what's happening in your child's school district; who's the judge on your case; and who's talking to the mayor about the specific problems that your community faces. Despite, any personal obstacles in the way of you getting to the polls, still get out and vote. If you don't know the candidates - google them and find out who's practices align with your individual beliefs. If you're working - go afterwards or during your lunch hour. If there's a will then there's a way. Therefore, make a way and go vote.
